The International Communications Consultancy Organisation (ICCO) has announced that its Next Gen PR World Cup will now take place in March/April 2025. The rescheduling comes in response to ICCO’s growth and the organisation’s commitment to ensuring broader participation from its expanding membership base.
Previously planned for October/November 2024, the competition will now run from 24 – 26 March 2025, with the team submission deadline set for 17 March 2025. The extension ensures that emerging teams have additional time to prepare while avoiding overlap with other industry events, such as the FuturePR competition for university students.
“ICCO is undergoing a period of significant global expansion, with many new members joining from around the world. By shifting the competition to spring 2025, we are ensuring that these new members have the chance to fully participate. This adjustment allows a broader range of countries to send their top young PR talent to compete on the world stage, fostering fresh perspectives and ideas during a crucial time for the public relations industry,” said Andras Sztaniszlav (pictured), CEO of ICCO.
UNDP to set strategic direction for the Next Gen PR World Cup 2025 competition
The Next Gen PR World Cup 2025 will be shaped by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), a key partner of ICCO and the largest UN agency leading the global fight against climate change, which will provide the strategic challenge for the competition. The Climate Communications Taskforce (CCT), a coalition of over 30 top PR professionals established by ICCO and UNDP, will craft climate-focused communication challenges and ensure a robust briefing for the competition.
