MISCHIEF (MHP Group) and the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board were the big winners as the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) held its annual Excellence Awards on Wednesday night.
Both took home a hattrick of awards as over 500 people joined host Lucy Porter at the Royal Lancaster London to celebrate the stand-out agencies, teams, and individuals across the public relations industry over the last 12 months.

Mischief won awards for the best Social Purpose Campaign and best Integrated Campaign for the He’s Coming Home campaign to raise awareness of domestic abuse that major sporting events can trigger. They also walked away with an award for best Sport or Entertainment Campaign. The North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board won best Public Sector Campaign, best Healthcare and/or Well Being Campaign, and best Low Budget Campaign for their #OUCH Bye Bye UTI Campaign.
This year’s awards – headline sponsored by 3Gem – featured six new categories, including accolades for Best Long-term Campaign and Best Long-term Client Care.
Agencies Cowshed, Taylor Herring, and Ready10 each won two awards with the latter picking up the much-coveted PR Consultancy of the Year Award.
Elsewhere, Fanclub PR won Small PR Consultancy of the Year, Altitute won New PR Consultancy of the Year, Battenhall won Specialist PR Consultancy of the Year, and Irwin Mitchell won In-House PR Team of the Year. Ben Veal took home the award for best Independent Practitioner while David Amos walked away with the award for Outstanding Young Communicator of the Year.
